Kongunadu Arts and Science College (Autonomous), Coimbatore, Department of Commerce with Information Technology, organized an Awareness Program on Digital Payment Methods for the local community at Urumandapalayam, Coimbatore, on 14th February 2025.

The program was initiated by Kishore Karthick, Founder of Karthi Traders, Coimbatore. Suresh, a third-year B.Com.IT student, detailed various digital payment methods and the security measures associated with them.

Karthick expressed his appreciation and congratulated the students for their enthusiasm and dedication to raising awareness about Digital Payment Methods and Security Measures within the community.

The second and third-year B.Com.IT students then ventured into the local community, explaining a wide array of digital payment methods, including Banking Cards, USSD, AEPS, UPI, Mobile Wallets, Prepaid Cards, Point of Sale (POS), Internet Banking, Mobile Banking, and Micro ATMs.

They also focused on imparting crucial knowledge about security measures to ensure safe digital transactions.

A total of 16 students and 4 faculty members Divya Priya, Associate Professor, Sudha, Princess Monica Victoria and Akila, Assistant Professors, Department of Commerce with Information Technology participated in the initiative, educating and raising awareness among 72 beneficiaries, which included housewives, daily wage earners, petty shopkeepers, roadside vendors, and senior citizens.
