Nilgiri College of Arts and Science, Thaloor, The Nilgiris, an institution with A++ grade from NAAC in its very first cycle, achieved a new milestone in the field of higher education.

12 professors along with their Secretary Rashid Gazzali, received their PhD degrees on a single day, making a mark in the history of Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.

Already a PhD holder, Rashid Gazzali, the Secretary and Managing Director of the institution, received his second PhD., at the convocation ceremony held at Bharathiar University in Coimbatore recently.

The faculty who received their PhDs include Roshma P.R.; Leema Thomas &  Elakkiya (English Literature), Muthukumar B.; Archana M.S. & Michael Raj (Computer Science);  Sreena V.A.; Sijina V.B.; Anumol B.T.;Dr. Jithin Scaria (Commerce )and Dency B. & Ranjini V.K. (Management Studies). They received their PhD degrees from the Governor of Tamil Nadu, R.N. Ravi.

“The college administration’s meticulous planning and financial support laced with paid leave for research and requisite infrastructure played a crucial role in achieving this feat,”a press release from the institution said.

“The college has been progressing remarkably in academics and the School of Commerce and School of Computer Science are recognised research centres as well. With quite a number of patents to its credit, the institution aims to become an institution with the highest number of PhD holders on its faculty forum. We, at Nilgiri College believe that it will not be too long a wait to touch the zenith,” it added.
