The World Malayalee Council, India Region, honoured a well-known Kannada writer and translator, Parcathi Aithal, with the “Malayala Mithram” Award and a cash prize of ₹25,000 at a function held in Kozhikode on November 8, 2025.

Padmakumar, President of the Council, presided over the function, while Thottathil Ravindran, MLA from Kozhikode, was the Chief Guest.

Mohan Nair, Chairman of the Council; Ramachandran Perambra, Secretary; Arul Thomas, Treasurer; Devadas Menon, Regional Coordinator; Naushad Areekkode, Malabar Province President; and several others were present.

The Council’s Malabar Province also honoured Cibella Sadanandan with the “Icon of Malabar” Award and Anju Chandran with the “Professional Award.”

The event, held at Hotel Gokulam Grand, was well attended by delegates from Hyderabad, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and other regions.

Padmakumar also announced plans to host a conclave of writers from various states and Kerala in 2026.
