KMCH College of Pharmacy, Coimbatore, in association with The Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, Chennai, organized a three-day international conference on “Integrating Clinical Pharmacokinetics and Biomarkers: Shaping the Next Generation of Therapeutics” from 10th to 12th July 2025 at the KMCH Hospital Conference Hall.

Dr. Rajasekaran, Principal of the College, delivered the welcome address. He explained the main theme of the conference and highlighted its relevance to the current healthcare scenario. He also welcomed the guest speakers from Malaysia. Following this, the institution’s newsletter for the current academic year was released by the dignitaries.

Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswami, Chairman of Kovai Medical Center Hospital and Dr. NGP Research and Educational Trust, delivered the Chief Guest address. He emphasised the vital role of the pharmacy profession in society and stressed the need for pharmacists to engage with patients to explain prescribed medications. He encouraged all delegates to adopt clinical practices within the pharmacy profession.

Dr. Thavamani D. Palaniswami, Managing Trustee of Dr. NGP Research and Educational Trust, delivered the Presidential Address. She urged participants to deepen their understanding of clinical pharmacokinetics and its significance.

Dr. Arun N. Palanisami, Executive Director of Kovai Medical Center and Hospital, delivered an informative speech on pharmacokinetics and pharmacotherapeutics. He emphasised the importance of personalised medicine in patient care.

The resource person, Datuk Dr. Allan Mathews, Dean and Professor at Quest International University, Malaysia, addressed the gathering with encouraging remarks. He praised the clinical pharmacy practices followed at KMCH Hospital.

Jaya Muneswarao, Clinical Pharmacist, Pegawai Farmasi UF 14, Hospital Pulau Pinang, Malaysia, shared valuable insights on drug pharmacokinetics.

Dr. Venugopal, Consultant Pulmonologist at KMCH Hospital, delivered a lecture on emerging biomarkers and their clinical applications.

Overall, the conference offered a comprehensive overview of drug pharmacokinetics and biomarkers in the healthcare industry.

The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Suresh Kumar, Vice Principal of the College.
