The Pitch, one of the marquee events of Coimbatore Vizha concluded recently at PSG iTech.
This event provides a platform for budding entrepreneurs to highlight their innovative ideas before a panel of judges to secure funding.
120 entities applied to participate in the 5th edition of The Pitch this year, and 16 were shortlisted to present their ideas to an esteemed panel of venture capitalists, generating investment opportunities worth nearly Rs.10 crore.
This year’s event showcased a remarkable diversity of startups, spanning sectors such as SaaS platforms, manufacturing, sustainability, and more.
By the event’s conclusion, 2 startups secured funding, while several others engaged in advanced discussions with investors.
MedMall – a Coimbatore-based mall for medical equipment was declared the winner of The Pitch, while Parambarya and Mechinex were announced as the first and second runners-up respectively.
The start-ups ‘Tails on Wheels’ and ‘Netzer Living’ were appreciated for their presentation. Sweetkadai, a pioneering startup, secured Rs.10 crore in funding from ADISSIA Properties. Manikandan, Managing Director of ADISSIA handed over the grant.
The event was graced by venture capitalists and industry leaders, including Chandrasekar Kupperi, Founder, ANOVA Corporate Services and Peaceful Progress; Venkatesh, Deputy Managing Director, Private Wealth Management, Spark Capital; Vaibhav Arren, Investment Banker, Spark Capital; Prem Ananth, Founder and CEO, Start Insights and Selvamuthukumar, Founder and CEO, Witree Technology.
With close to 200 attendees, The Pitch 2024 reaffirmed Coimbatore’s position as a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem.

8th edition of Bridge Tournament
The timeless card game of ‘contract bridge’ made a resounding comeback to Coimbatore, with the Coimbatore Cosmopolitan Club hosting the 8th Annual Coimbatore Vizha Bridge Tournament.
The tournament was inaugurated by veteran bridge player A.V. Varadharajan. At the end of the tournament, the team of Muthu and Prakash were declared the North-South Winners while the team of A.Sen and Thiruvenkatesh were announced as the runners-up in this category.
Likewise, the team of Srithar and Subramanian were declared the East-West winners and Prabha and SrisruthiUdayakumar were announced as the runners-up.
