Swarga Foundation launched ‘Sarathi’, Vellore’s first wheelchair-friendly and senior citizen-friendly travel service, aiming to provide accessible and comfortable transportation for persons with disabilities and elderly passengers, recently at GRT Regency, Vellore.
The event will be graced by Govindaraj, Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, New Delhi. Following the inauguration, a press meet and media briefing was conducted by Swarnalatha, Managing Trustee, Swarga Foundation.
Sarathi – A Step Towards Inclusive Travel
Sarathi Mini, introduced by the Swarga Foundation, is designed to provide a seamless and safe travel experience. The specially equipped vehicle includes a dedicated wheelchair parking space and a foldable ramp for easy access.
This service will be operated by persons with disabilities, reinforcing the foundation’s commitment to empowerment and inclusion.
The launch of Sarathi marks a significant step in making Vellore a more inclusive and accessible city for all.
