Tamil Nadu Agricultural University’s Centre for Plant Molecular Biology and Biotechnology organized National Science Day recently. The university celebrates the day annually since 2015.

This year, it organized a series of programs under the theme Women in Science: Catalysing Viksit Bharat, emphasizing the pivotal role of women scientists and researchers in advancing India towards becoming a developed nation.

The celebrations included various competitions for school and college kids. Close to 600 students from 13 colleges, which included 3 Affiliated Colleges, 6 Constituent Colleges, 4 Private Colleges. 60 students from 9 schools participated in the science exhibitions.

The prestigious Overall School Championship Trophy of National Science Day was bagged by SBOA School, Coimbatore, for their exceptional performance, innovative exhibits, and consistent excellence throughout the competitions. The Runner-up Trophy was awarded to Dharmasastra School, Coimbatore, for their remarkable scientific creativity and enthusiastic participation in the exhibition and events.

The Prize Distribution ceremony took place in the presence of K. Venkatesan, Dean (Horticulture), and P. Balasubramanian,Director (NRM), TNAU.
