Rathinam College of Arts and Science (RCAS), and the Central Footwear Training Institute (CFTI), Chennai, an entity under the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Government of India, formally signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding, recently.

This agreement represents a key milestone in establishing a strategic collaboration between academia and the industry.

The MoU was signed by Rajesh Kumar on behalf of CFTI, while Manickam, Secretary and Chief Executive Officer, Balasubramanian, Principal, Hemalatha, Head of the Department of Commerce, and Rajendran, Head of the Department of Commerce, represented Rathinam College during the event.

The primary objective of this MoU is to close the gap between academic curricula and industry requirements by introducing specialized, industry-oriented certification courses.

These programs, such as GST Practitioner, Business Analytics, Certified Python Developer, Al & ML, AL & Deep Learning, Graphic Designer, EDP, Industrial Accounting system with Inventory and Payroll Management, Industrial Accounting system with Inventory, Income Tax Practitioner, Internal Auditor, Tally Prime with GST and Cyber Security are designed to provide students with practical, hands-on skills that are highly valued in the contemporary job market.

Through these courses, students will gain relevant expertise, boosting their employability and preparing them for the challenges of the modern business environment.

This collaboration aims to foster a smooth integration of academic learning with industry practices, offering students the chance to acquire both theoretical knowledge and professional certifications that are in line with the evolving demands of the industry.

By embedding such programs within the curriculum, the MoU seeks to elevate the academic experience while also advancing the Government of India’s overarching goal of skill development within the MSME sector. Through this partnership, both institutions are committed to cultivating a highly skilled workforce equipped with the practical capabilities needed to excel in the global marketplace.
