The PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering organized the third edition of iTech Hackfest 2024- a national-level hackathon, recently.

The inaugural address was delivered by the esteemed Chief Guest, Dr. Karina Montilla Edmonds, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Academies and University Alliances at SAP. Her inspiring words captivated the audience, adding motivation and confidence to the event.

She shared a compelling narrative on the importance of curiosity and empathy in engineering and science. Reflecting on her experiences in technology transfer and energy technology, she encouraged students to embrace learning, regardless of their knowledge level. She highlighted the significance of building a robust network, reminding students that “their network is their net worth.”

Her inspiring address underscored the critical role of women in technology and innovation, encouraging female participants to break barriers and lead confidently.

This national-level hackathon has attracted participants from across the country. Industry leader SAP has sponsored a prize pool of ₹4.75 lakhs, with the top winner receiving ₹2,50,000, the second-place team ₹1,50,000, and the third-place team ₹75,000.

The hackathon features participants from 10 states, judged by 550 jury members and 25 regional partners. As the hackathon enters its final stages, 110 teams have been shortlisted from 2,500 teams comprising over 12,500 participants from 110 colleges.
