The Departments of Cardiology and Preventive Cardiology at PSG Hospitals observed World Heart Day on 29th September 2025 with the theme “Don’t Miss a Beat.”
As part of the celebrations, a special CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) training session was conducted for the attenders of patients.
The occasion was graced by distinguished leaders, including Dr. Bhuvaneswaran, Director of the hospital; Dr. Rajendiran, Head of Preventive Cardiology; Dr. Tamilarasu, Head of Cardiology; and senior cardiology consultants.
Dr. Ramamoorthy, Head of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and Dr. Parthiban, Senior Physiotherapist, also supported the initiative.
During the event, the importance of CPR was explained in detail, and participants received hands-on training under expert guidance.
Highlighting the importance of equipping the public with life-saving first aid skills, the hospital has made CPR training a regular program in the Cardiology Ward. Initially planned for the attenders of admitted patients, the program aims to empower families with vital first-aid knowledge.
Training sessions will now be conducted twice a week, ensuring that patient attenders gain practical skills to help not only their loved ones but also neighbours and the wider community during emergencies.
The CPR training program was conducted with active involvement from the physiotherapy team, psychologist, social workers, and staff nurses, ensuring a comprehensive approach to patient and community welfare.
