The Fire Safety Officers of PSG College of Arts and Science conducted a Fire Safety Mock Drill recently.

Around 300 students from the Youth Red Cross of the Institution and the students of various departments participated in the event.

The officers provided insights about the types of fire, the sources of fire and basic safety measure to execute while being in a situation of fire.

The fire safety officers conducted a session covering various crucial aspects of emergency management.

They provided guidance on evacuating individuals during a fire accident, administering First Aid to patients in emergencies, and understanding the dos and don’ts during such situations.

The session also included live practical demonstrations involving student volunteers, who were trained to respond effectively in emergencies.

Additionally, volunteers from the audience participated as part of the Emergency Rescue Team (ERT) during the practical sessions.

“This initiative fostered a sense of responsibility and imparted critical knowledge to the students, preparing them to take immediate and effective action in emergency scenarios within the college.

The session had an impact on the students about the knowledge of firefighting and the sense of safety and protection during an emergency.

This also promotes the idea of First Aid for people who are in medical emergencies and the responsibility of a student as a youth in action in a situation of need of saving a life.” the college noted.
