The Poultry Farmers Regulatory Committee (PFRC) organised its 2025 Annual Summit on 14th November 2025 in Coimbatore.
The summit focused on five key themes: Nutrition, Healthy Eating, the Role of Poultry in Human Nutrition, Biosecurity Protocol – SAFE P Certification, and the Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases.
Lakshmanan, Chairman of the committee and representative of Shanthi Hatcheries, presided over the event. Chinnasamy, Managing Director of Swathi Hatcheries and Secretary of the committee, offered felicitation and highlighted that broiler chickens are an affordable source of protein, with individual consumption increasing significantly over the years.
He noted that chicken production is thriving in Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, and Telangana, with Tamil Nadu leading in broiler production due to its favourable climate.
He also emphasised that one of the committee’s key requests is for the Tamil Nadu Government’s Department of Animal Husbandry to provide a rendering plant for recycling chicken waste at a central location serving Pollachi, Udumalai, Coimbatore, and Palladam, which would help these major broiler-producing towns manage waste effectively.
Ramasamy, Managing Director of Senthil Hatcheries and Treasurer of the committee, proposed the vote of thanks.
