The Department of Biotechnology, PSG College of Arts & Science (PSGCAS), organised a National Seminar on “An Omics Revolution on Sustainable Agriculture and Environment” sponsored by the Department of Biotechnology, New Delhi, on 24th& 25th July 2025 at Podhigai Hall.

The seminar harnessed different omics technologies (genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, etc.) for advancing sustainable agriculture and environmental protection by improving crop resilience, enhancing soil health, reducing chemical inputs, and understanding ecological interactions at the molecular level.

The seminar was inaugurated by the Chief Guest, Shanmugaiah, Assistant Professor, Madurai Kamaraj University. The program was organised by Rajiv, Associate Professor, Department of Biotechnology.

Academicians and researchers from various prestigious institutes across Tamil Nadu delivered the technical sessions about omics and its applications for sustainable agriculture and the environment.

The seminar helped in fostering research and scientific collaboration between the scientific researchers, academicians and students.
