The Departments of Computer Science and Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science at PSG Institute of Technology and Applied Research (PSG iTech) organised the Third International Conference on Next Generation Computing Systems (ICNGCS 2025) recently.

The conference was graced by the presence of the chief guest, Meyappan Srinivasan, Group Manager at Bosch Global Software Technologies, Coimbatore and the Guest of Honour, Rajmohan Natesan, Senior Director, Radiant Global Technology, Chennai.

The two-day International Conference commenced, centring on the theme “Intelligent Systems for Sustainable Development”, bringing together experts from academia and industry.

The conference received 500 research papers, which include international and industry papers, reflecting the growing global interest in intelligent systems. After a rigorous review process, 179 papers were selected to be presented during the technical sessions at the conference.

The inaugural ceremony of the conference was held on 21st August. It was presided over by Saravanakumar, Principal; Mohanram, Secretary; Gomathy, Head of Computer Science and Engineering Department; and Kalarani, Head of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science Department.

The session began with a welcome address by Gomathy, followed by the Presidential Address by Saravanakumar and the Felicitation Address by Mohanram.

The formal release of the conference proceedings marked the start of two days of knowledge sharing and collaboration.

Meyappan Srinivasan, in his keynote address, spoke on “Multimodal AI and the Rise of Trustworthy Intelligence,” demonstrating the transformative applications of LLMs and Generative AI, while Rajmohan Natesan highlighted the importance of “Intelligent Computing, AI, and ML.”

He emphasised that AI should augment human processes rather than replace them, concluding with the remark: “Humans with AI will replace humans without AI.”

The technical sessions featured distinguished speakers from academia and industry.

Meenakshi D’Souza, Head of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at IIIT-Bangalore, shared insights on “Testing of IoT Applications on Cloud Platforms.”

Nagarajan, IEEE Conference Committee Member, Madras Section and  Professor of Electronics Engineering at Pondicherry University, who spoke on “The Role of Artificial Intelligence in Enhancing Terahertz Wireless Communication.”

Adding an international perspective, Santhosh Paramasivam, Professor at the University of Cagliari, Italy, offered valuable insights on “Self-Powered Edge Intelligence.”

The technical sessions of Day 1 featured research papers on Intelligent systems, AI, and Data-Driven Solutions, highlighting innovations in computing for sustainable development, and Day 2 featured international experts and advanced technical presentations.
