Hindusthan College of Arts and Science organised the National level Public Financial Management System (PFMS) workshop, recently.

The workshop was led by the convenor Dr K.Gomathi Finance Officer, Finance Department of Hindusthan Educational Charitable Trust. The workshop aimed to provide training and guidance on the effective use of PFMS for better financial management and accountability.

During the inauguration, Dr M.Vanitha Finance Controller welcomed the gathering. Dr A.Ponnusamy Principal of HICAS gave the presidential address. He motivated the faculty members to enrich their knowledge in the PFMS Portal.

Dr. K. Karunakaran Chief Executive Officer clearly explained the importance of how to handle the money received from Government funding agencies and submission of Utilization certificates.

The Hands-on training sessions were handled by the resource persons Francis, PFMS Consultant (DST) New Delhi and Dr. A. Vijaya, Principal, United College of Arts and Science. S. Francis focused on, how to enhance the understanding of PFMS and its modules and how to improve skills in using PFMS for financial transactions and reporting and to promote best practices in financial management and accountability.

The resource person Dr A. Vijaya provided hands-on training in the PFMS portal and emphasised its objectives and PFMS modules (expenditure, receipts, accounting, and reporting methods). The PFMS workshop was a success, with participants gaining valuable insights and practical skills in using the system.

The workshop highlighted the importance of effective financial management and accountability in the public sector. K. Priya, executive Secretary honoured the resource persons and organizing team. The programme ended with participant feedback and a vote of thanks rendered by Dr. B. Paulchamy, Prof & Head/ECE, HITECH.
