The Department of Biotechnology, Hindusthan College of Arts & Science (HICAS) hosted an International Seminar recently, titled “Unlocking Innovation: The Crucial Role of Research in Advancing Medical Therapies.”
This significant event, specifically tailored for undergraduate and postgraduate students of Biotechnology, aimed to deepen their understanding of how research drives progress in medical treatments.
The seminar featured a keynote address by the distinguished Dr. Mythili Saravanan, Research Scientist at the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biomanufacturing Research Institute and Technology Enterprise (BRITE) at North Carolina Central University, NC, USA.
Dr. Mythili’s engaging presentation highlighted the importance of cutting-edge research in identifying new treatment pathways and enhancing patient outcomes. She elaborated on how rigorous scientific investigation reveals novel disease mechanisms and fosters advancements in personalized and targeted therapies. These innovations are crucial for improving treatment efficacy, minimizing side effects and significantly enhancing patients’ quality of life.
The seminar was inaugurated by T. R. K. Saruasuwathi, Managing Trustee, and Dr. K. Priya, Executive Trustee of the Hindusthan Educational and Charitable Trust, whose presence underscored the event’s significance and the trust’s unwavering support.
