Marking World Cancer Day 2026, the Gem Cancer Centre at Gem Hospital today launched Dr. GEM, an advanced AI-powered cancer intelligence chatbot designed to enhance patient education and support clinical decision-making, and felicitated cancer warriors on 3rd February 2026, at the hospital auditorium.

The launch of Dr. GEM marks a significant milestone in addressing the growing challenge of cancer-related misinformation by offering accurate, scientifically validated, and reliable information to patients and caregivers, thereby improving treatment understanding and strengthening patient confidence.

The ceremony was graced by eminent dignitaries, including Sivathanu Pillai, a renowned Indian scientist from ISRO and widely known as the Father of BrahMos, and Saravana Sundar, Inspector General of Police, West Zone, Coimbatore.

Speaking at the launch, Dr. Praveen Raj, Chief Executive Officer, GEM Cancer Centre, said, In today’s era, misinformation about cancer poses a significant challenge for patients. Dr. GEM has been developed to provide accurate, evidence-based information precisely when patients need it most.
