“The Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ICCI), Coimbatore, welcomes the Tamil Nadu Budget for 2025-2026, presented by Thangam Thennarasu, Minister for Finance and Human Resources Management, Tamil Nadu Government, at the Tamil Nadu Assembly,” said Rajesh B. Lund, President of the Chamber.

On behalf of the Chamber’s members and the people of this region, Rajesh B. Lund thanked Chief Minister M.K. Stalin for presenting this well-balanced Budget, which includes the following announcements:

1.⁠ ⁠Setting up of an Industrial Training Centre in Coimbatore.

2.⁠ ⁠Improvement of 6,100 kilometers of rural roads at a cost of ₹2,200 crore in 2025-26.

3.⁠ ⁠Introduction of women empowerment welfare schemes.

4.⁠ ⁠Deployment of 75 e-buses in Coimbatore.

5.⁠ ⁠An allocation of ₹21,906 crore for the Health and Family Welfare Department in the Budget Estimates.

6.⁠ ⁠Setting up of a Centre of Excellence for advanced pump motor technologies in the city.

7.⁠ ⁠While we welcome the establishment of a Global City in Chennai with the support of TIDCO, we suggest that such a Global City also be established in Coimbatore, as Kovai is a rapidly developing city.

8.⁠ ⁠Setting up of a Semiconductor Park in Coimbatore.

This budget is a well-balanced one, focusing on school and college education, enhancing people’s welfare, supporting construction workers, various labour schemes, and river development projects, among other initiatives.
