Mohammed Safirulla, a PSG Tech alumnus who pursued BE in Electrical Engineering (2000–2003), has been appointed Joint Secretary in the Department of Health and Family Welfare under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
A 2010-batch IAS officer of the Kerala cadre, Safirulla previously served as Director of the India AI Mission under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in New Delhi. His experience in technology-led governance and public administration adds significance to his new role in the health sector.
He will serve a combined tenure of five years, until August 27, 2030.
