PSG Institute of Management celebrated Foundation Day 2026 on Wednesday, commemorating over 60 years of excellence in Management education. L Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee, PSG & Sons’ Charities, presided over the ceremony.
Ramkumar Ramamoorthy, Partner, Catalincs, and Former CMD, Cognizant India, took part in the event as Chief Guest, while Dr Jagat Shah, Founder and Chairman, Global Network, was the Guest of Honour.
The Chief Guest addressed the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, highlighting India’s ambitious growth targets, from raising manufacturing’s GDP contribution to 25% to building a $30–35 trillion economy.He emphasised the growing intersection of management and behavioural science, urging students to navigate generational, technological, and behavioural shifts. Drawing on his experience at Catalincs, he highlighted leadership coaching as a key factor in organisational growth.
At the occasion, the Institution presented the Distinguished Alumni Awards to 4 former students. George Thayyil, Managing Director, Johns Group of Companies; Uma Sekar, Managing Director of Avaneetha Textiles Pvt Ltd; Viswanath, Director, RmKV Silks and Sashikanth Karipineni, Executive Director, Sri Bhavani Castings Limited & Director, Saka Organics, received the award.
The celebration concluded with a panel discussion featuring four distinguished alumni on the theme Future of Work: “From Legacy to Leadership: Building Businesses That Endure, Adapt and Create Impact”.
