The 1976 batch of Stanes Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School celebrated its Golden Jubilee Alumni Meet recently at Poppy’s Tusker Hill Resort in Anaikatti.

Alumni from Australia, Bengaluru, Pollachi, and in and around Coimbatore took part in the celebrations. C.A. Vasuki, Secretary and Director of Kongunadu Arts and Science College, was also among the alumni present.

A few members from the United States were unable to attend due to personal reasons. In total, around 24 families and 10 individual participants attended the reunion.

The Correspondent, the Chairperson, members of the Governing Board, and four former teachers of the school were felicitated during the event.

A specially designed cake shaped as “50” was cut to mark the Golden Jubilee. A Naval (Jamun) tree sapling was also planted to commemorate the occasion. The sapling was sponsored by a classmate and provided by Siruthuli.

Group photographs were taken at the school campus and at the venue. Various games and quiz competitions were organised, with women alumni taking the lead in coordinating events and distributing prizes. Singers entertained the gathering in the evenings, and several couples and groups won gifts in the competitions.

Selfie booths were set up to capture memorable moments. Each classmate received takeaway gifts, and photographs taken during the event were laminated and distributed to friends and families at the time of check-out.

The celebrations were planned meticulously, with preparations beginning in mid-March 2025. A core team of four members was formed and travelled across Coimbatore in search of a suitable venue, exploring locations such as Pollachi, Kotagiri and Anaikatti before finalising the resort. The event was scheduled for two nights and three days.
