PSG Hospitals organised the FETAL ECHOCON 2026 – Imaging the Fetal Heart: From a Holistic Perspective, a two-day national scientific conference on fetal cardiology and prenatal imaging, recently at the hospital.

The conference carried 4 Tamil Nadu Medical Council (TNMC) Credit Points.

The program brought together leading fetal medicine specialists, pediatric cardiologists, radiologists, geneticists, neonatologists and obstetricians from across India and abroad.

Dr. Lalitha, Professor & Senior Consultant, Fetal Medicine, PSG Hospitals, delivered the introductory address and highlighted the importance of early diagnosis of congenital heart disease and standardised fetal cardiac screening.

The event was graced by Dr. Bhuvaneswaran, Director, PSG Super Specialty Hospital, and Dr. Subbarao, Principal, PSG Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, who delivered the inaugural address and felicitated the awardees.

As part of the ceremony, the Lifetime Achievement Award was presented to Suresh Seshadri, Director, Mediscan Systems, Chennai, for his outstanding contribution to fetal medicine and prenatal imaging.

The Pioneer in Fetal Echocardiography Award was presented to Dr. Indrani Suresh, Director & Senior Consultant, Fetal Medicine, Mediscan Systems, Chennai, for her pioneering work in advancing fetal echocardiography in India.

A Special Invited Lecture titled “Overview of the ‘Every Little Heart Matters’ Programme of ISUOG” was delivered by Reem Abu Rustum, President, International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology (ISUOG), USA, who emphasised global efforts to improve fetal heart screening and perinatal outcomes.

FETAL ECHOCON 2026 featured hands-on sessions, case-based discussions, panel discussions and interactive dialogues on topics such as fetal cardiac functional assessment, first-trimester cardiac anomalies, fetal arrhythmias, complex congenital heart disease, in-utero cardiac therapy, genetics in congenital heart disease and advanced 3D/4D/STIC imaging.
