Marking 86 years since the establishment of the first-ever private polytechnic college in Tamil Nadu, founded during the pre-independence era, PSG Polytechnic College celebrated its Foundation Day on 15th July, 2025, at the college premises.
The ceremony was graced by the Chief Guest, Mylswamy Annadurai, Former Project Director and Programme Director of Chandrayaan-1 and Mangalyaan, ISRO.
L. Gopalakrishnan, Managing Trustee of PSG & Sons’ Charities, presided over the event.
G. R. Karthikeyan, Chairman, and Dr. Giriraj, Principal of the College, were also present on the occasion.
As part of the celebrations, four distinguished alumni were honoured with the Distinguished Alumni Award.
The awards were presented by the Chief Guest in the presence of the Managing Trustee and the Principal.
Four Distinguished Alumni Awardees:
1. Giridhara Gopalan – Executive Director, SIERRA ODC (M) Sdn. Bhd., Malaysia
2. Govindharaj Vellayan – Proprietor, LOGI to LASI, Chennai
3. Jayaseelan – Deputy Superintendent of Police, CBI, Anti-Corruption Bureau, Chennai
4. Kumari – CEO & Managing Director, Harsha Flow Technologies, Coimbatore
The event was attended by the Heads of PSG Institutions, alumni, students, and faculty members of PSG Polytechnic College.
